Aynouk Tan is the moderator and presenter of the podcast.
Tan is a (fashion) journalist, curator, lecturer and advisor specialized in the relationship between appearance and identity politics. By observing appearance from an anthropological point of view they aim to deconstruct colonial, neoliberal and heteronormative narratives. Clients include NPO Radio 1, Tropenmuseum, Mama Cash Foundation, Stedelijk Museum, the Cobra Museum and Gemeente Amsterdam. Tan is also an advisor at the Amsterdam Fund for the Arts (AFK), jury member for the Dutch Design Awards and chair of the board at the political party Amsterdam BIJ1.
Joeri Pruys leads the curating team and is one of the initiators of Designers write.
Joeri Pruys is a writer and filmmaker. He focuses on writing, directing and producing film and media about complex issues, exceptional situations and the hidden sides of human lives. He writes articles and essays for magazines and online platforms, often on urgent social themes such as economic oppression, (neo)colonialism and climate destruction.
Jeroen Deckers organises and produces the podcast and is one of the initiators of Designers write.
Jeroen Deckers enjoys organizing, producing and moderating meetings in a creative, artistic and philosophical setting. That is one of the reasons why he is co-founder of Designplatform Rotterdam. His background is in public administration, politics and business strategy. Jeroen is more interested in people’s experiences than in opinions. “Perhaps the best essays come straight from the heart,” he says.
From motivational keynotes to hands-on trainings, Dr. Cairo engages people, communities and organizations to implement positive change and communicate the message that every story has value.

Marjanne van Helvert
Marjanne van Helvert is a textile designer, researcher and writer. She received an MA degree in Cultural Studies from the Radboud Universiteit Nijmegen in 2007, and a BDes degree in Textile Design from the Rietveld Academie Amsterdam in 2013.
